Emer Kate Sanders

Emer Kate (b. 1998) is an artist and maker. She attended St. Olaf College in Northfield, MN where she earned a B.A. in Studio Art with a concentration in Middle Eastern Studies.

Emer Kate was raised in the Cultural District of Fort Worth, Texas, where her love for the visual arts was fostered by access to several world-class museums just a few blocks down the street from her childhood home. In high school, she learned to notice the world around her through four years of studying both digital and film photography.

At St. Olaf, Emer Kate developed a love for embroidery, ceramics, and multimedia work. She has taught embroidery and jewelry making classes at Holden Village. Emer Kate firmly believes in working intuitively and making "mistakes," letting her creative spirit and external influences shape her work.
